Founded by international mezzo-soprano, Maria Muller, SPIRITUS MUNDI’s mission is to make the passion, power and beauty of classical song accessible to modern audiences. Described as “operatic with a lightness of touch” Maria Muller and her fellow musicians make music that crosses boundaries in both genre and geography.

Spiritus Mundi offers a unique blend of World music – classical and folk, ecclesiastical and secular, ancient and modern. And in the spirit of true internationalism the repertoire is sung in no less than five different languages, including Maria’s native tongue – Filipino.

Spiritus Mundi prides itself on the support it gives to churches through benefit recitals and concerts. The company has raised thousand of pounds for church appeals. The majority of our concerts take place in churches and cathedrals and when the schedule allows we support parishes where funds are needed to restore or repair the fabric of the kind of buildings in which we love to perform.
